PRIVACY POLICY — BABYLON SHOP

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. WHO WE ARE AND SCOPE

BABYLON SHOP LTD provides the Babylon Shop Android application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how the existing version of the App handles customer-entered information, shopping lists, photographs and network access. It relates to the Android App identified in the Google Play listing as “Babylon Shop”. For privacy queries, please contact info@babylonshop.site.

2. INFORMATION YOU ENTER FOR PREPARED DELIVERY REQUESTS

The App displays a delivery-details form. These fields are used only to prepare a delivery-contact record on your device:

Required:
• Full name — identifies the named person on the prepared request and enables review of the delivery-contact details.
• Phone number — records a UK contact telephone number for the prepared request.
• Address line 1 — records the street address, building name or number for the proposed delivery destination.
• Town or city — records the location of that address.
• UK postcode — records the postal code for that address.

Optional:
• Address line 2 — supplies additional address details if needed.
• Delivery instructions — records any optional delivery-related notes you choose to enter, limited by the App's form validation.

These fields are checked for basic completeness and formatting in the App. While you are filling in the form, the values are held temporarily in the App's current session. When you choose to complete a prepared request, the information is retained in the App's private storage on your device with that request. An incomplete form is not added to saved requests and is not retained after the App's process ends.

Do not add passwords, security codes, bank details or other sensitive information to the optional delivery instructions.

3. SHOPPING AND USAGE DATA STORED ON THE DEVICE

To provide the requested local functionality, the App retains:
• Product identifiers and quantities in your current basket.
• Your selected favourite product identifiers.
• A list of up to ten recently viewed product identifiers.
• Saved shopping lists, their creation timestamps, product identifiers and quantities.
• Prepared delivery requests, including the required and optional fields above, selected product identifiers and quantities, a reference basket total and the date/time the request was prepared.

These records let you return to a basket, open favourites, reopen a saved shopping list, check prepared delivery details and remove them if you wish. Product prices are indicative UK retailer references only and not confirmed Babylon Shop shelf prices or a payable order total.

4. WHETHER INFORMATION IS SENT TO US

The current version of Babylon Shop does not automatically transmit your delivery-form contents, shopping basket, saved lists, favourites or prepared requests to BABYLON SHOP LTD, or to a business order server. It does not actually place an order, confirm that the business has received a request, schedule delivery or charge a payment.

There are no user accounts or mandatory registration. We do not request or store passwords, complete payment-card numbers, CVV/CVC, card PINs or online-banking details. The current App has no Firebase service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, cloud database or payment processor.

5. PHOTOGRAPHS, INTERNET CONNECTIONS AND THIRD PARTIES

The App uses internet access to load genuine catalogue photographs from Wikimedia Commons when a photograph has not already been bundled with the installation or saved in the App's photo cache. Downloaded photos are stored in the App's private photo files so they may be shown again without downloading.

A request to Wikimedia Commons or its delivery network can expose network information such as your IP address and technical request data (for example, the time and image requested) to that external service as a standard part of delivering the photograph. The App does not intentionally include your name, telephone number, address or saved delivery-request contents in those photo requests. Wikimedia Commons has its own privacy practices; see https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Privacy_policy.

You can open individual photograph and UK price source links from the App's Sources & credits area. Those actions launch a web browser, where the website and browser provider handle any information according to their own policies.

If you select “Compose an email” on Contact Us, Android opens your installed email application addressed to info@babylonshop.site. The App does not automatically send a delivery request or attach stored checkout information to that email. If you choose to send an email, your email address, message and the information you include will be handled by your email provider and, after delivery, by the recipient's email service. This is separate from the local shopping and delivery-detail features.

6. PERMISSIONS AND FEATURES NOT USED

The App requests the Android INTERNET permission for catalogue photos and related links. It does not request GPS or precise-location permission, camera access, microphone access, contacts permission or Android photo/media-library access. Users enter a proposed delivery address manually; the App does not read the device's geographic location.

This App is not currently designed to display third-party advertising or to collect analytics events. It does not use behavioural advertising trackers.

7. STORAGE AND SECURITY

Saved baskets, favourites, recently viewed items, lists and prepared delivery requests are stored in Android private app preferences on the device. Downloaded photos are held in the App's private files. Android's app sandbox limits access by other ordinary apps; however, no system can be guaranteed completely secure and app-preference records are not an encrypted online vault. Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup for this App are disabled in its current configuration.

8. RETENTION AND DELETION

Stored shopping preferences and prepared delivery requests remain on the current device until you delete them or uninstall the App. The App supplies the following controls:
• More > Delivery requests: review your prepared requests and delete an individual request, including the contact information recorded for that request.
• Favourites and saved shopping lists: remove individual items or lists using the relevant screens.
• More > Clear saved information: delete the saved basket, favourites, recently viewed items, shopping lists, prepared delivery requests (including names, phone numbers, addresses and notes) and downloaded photo cache from the current device.
• Uninstalling the App removes the App's private locally stored data, subject to the operating system's normal behaviour.

Values entered into an unfinished delivery form are temporary and cease to be available after the App's process ends. Sending an independent email creates a separate record in the sending email app and recipient mailbox, governed by those services; clearing App storage does not erase independently sent email messages.

9. INTERNATIONAL NETWORK ACCESS

Although the business is based in the United Kingdom, Wikimedia Commons and other public websites linked from the App may serve images or webpages through infrastructure outside the United Kingdom. The only App data intentionally sent as part of image access is the image/network request; personal delivery-form fields and locally saved request records are not transmitted with it.

10. CHILDREN

Babylon Shop is a general grocery-list browsing application and is not specifically directed at children. The App does not offer child-specific accounts or profiles. People entering delivery details should provide only information they are authorised to share.

11. YOUR CHOICES AND PRIVACY ENQUIRIES

You can choose not to prepare a delivery request and still browse items and manage a basket. You may leave optional delivery fields blank. To see or delete local information, use the App's saved-record screens and Clear saved information control described above. For questions or other privacy matters, email info@babylonshop.site.

Because the App does not transmit its locally saved delivery requests to the business, BABYLON SHOP LTD cannot retrieve, amend or remotely delete a prepared request stored solely on your device. You can delete it using the App's controls.

12. POLICY CHANGES

If the App later adds a live order backend, delivery confirmations, cloud accounts, online payments, advertising, analytics or different data processing, this policy and the Play Console Data Safety declarations must be updated before those changes are published. We will make the revised policy available in the App and through the public privacy-policy webpage used for the Google Play listing.
